Four ways to do après ski in Meribel

Meribel has a rocking après ski scene, whether you want to dance or just chill out. Here are 4 ideas for the best après ski in Meribel | Ski Olympic News

Meribel is an awesome ski resort, and one of our favourites at Ski Olympic. Loved not just for its fantastic location, pistes and luxury chalets, Meribel also has a rocking après ski scene.

Whether you like to have a drink and a dance at a bar, or just want to chill out with your friends in your cosy Meribel ski chalet, there are lots of ways to enjoy après ski during your ski holiday in France. Here are our suggestions to try during your stay in Meribel:

Have a drink in one of Meribel’s bars

There are lots of great bars, pubs and clubs in Meribel. You can choose depending on what you’re after, but we’d recommend trying a few – variety is the spice of life after all!

La Folie Douce – popular with younger skiers and snowboarders, La Folie Douce is a favourite with Millie Wilkinson, a young freestyle skier we sponsor. Every afternoon a stream of DJs, singers, musicians and dancers perform – perfect for an afternoon boogie. They’re open from 9am to 5pm.

Jack’s Bar – if you like reasonably priced drinks, live music, live sports and stand-up comedy, Jack’s Bar is the place for you. Happy hour is 4-5pm every day, they have 2 for 1 cocktails between 9pm and 10pm, and they offer homemade toffee vodka if you’d like to try something different. Previous stand-up comedy acts include John Bishop, Ed Byrne and Al Murray, and they have live music 5-7pm, Monday to Friday. They are open from 12 noon to 2am.

Barometer Bar – with a great location in the centre of Meribel, Barometer Bar is ideal if you want to pop out for a civilised tipple. It has a great atmosphere, and a good selection of wines. They also have big screens to show major sports events. For up-to-date opening times it is best to check their Facebook page.

O’Sullivans Meribel – if you’re looking for more of a club atmosphere with good music and great DJ events, you’ve found it here. It has been a popular nightclub for many years as Dick’s T-Bar, and now it has updated itself with a fresh revamp as O’Sullivans. Keep up-to-date with their events via their Facebook page. They’re open from 10pm to 4am.

Relax with spa treatments

You might not want to spend every après ski session in the pub, in which case how about recharging your batteries with a bit of pampering? A number of our chalets come with hot tubs, saunas and swimming pools – a real treat after a day on the slopes.

If you want a little more, our partners Massage Me provide great massages and facials right in your chalet (except in Reberty). The Mega Legs massage is excellent as it focuses on the primary ski muscles in the legs to set you up for the next day’s skiing. You can also get discounts if you book in a group, so why not make a night of it with your fellow skiers?

Chill in your chalet

There’s as much fun to be had inside as there is outside your chalet. Begin with an afternoon tea of freshly baked cakes, bread and jam, tea and coffee. With your evening sorted with a three-course meal, wine and canapes too if you’re staying in one of our Gold Collection chalets, just chill out and have some fun.
