A Family Holiday with Ski Olympic

A blog post detailing a family ski holiday with Ski Olympic.

As a family-run independent company, we love welcoming families to our chalets year on year. Read on to find out what’s in store for your family on a Ski Olympic holiday...

Wake up to beautiful snow-capped mountains and fresh powder on the slopes, right on your doorstep. If you’re a guest in Hotel La Foret, you’ll find a delicious buffet breakfast waiting for you downstairs in the dining room, where you can sit socially distanced with your family. If you’re staying in Chalet Isabelle or Chalet Eve, you can enjoy breakfast in the comfort of your own private dining area within your Chalet.

After breakfast, the day is yours - grab your skis/snowboard and boots off the heat-rack and make the short walk across the La Foret terrace before hitting the slopes. Head straight up the new Vallandry Gondola, and within a matter of minutes you’ll be on the mountain ready to start your day.

If you’re keen to find a ski/snowboard school for your children, there’s a range of providers who operate in the Vallandry resort. The resort is perfect for skiers and snowboarders of all levels and abilities, with a specialised beginner area at the end of the Vallandry Gondola for those who have never skied before. It makes for a superb balance between challenging and relaxed skiing.

If you’re looking for a more relaxed start to your day, why not book a massage with Massage Me, a mobile massage company who visit our residences and offer a range of treatments. The Vallandry village is a short ten-minute walk and has a range of shops for you to explore too.

At lunch time, enjoy a bite to eat on the mountain, or come back to La Caverne, La Forets very own restaurant for a wholesome home cooked meal. From traditional dishes to the ‘Plat de Jour’, our menu is varied and carefully crafted to ensure we spotlight the best local produce. Try a large hot chocolate topped with cream & marshmallows, or a regular with a small measure of liqueur. Perhaps a warming hot apple drink with a difference will become your holiday favourite (adults only). At La Caverne, we can tailor for all ages and preferences.

The mountains are calling, though, so don’t hesitate to get back out on the slopes for the afternoon before making your way back to La Foret for Afternoon Tea. Before your evening meal, spend some time relaxing, exploring the Vallandry village or, if you’ve still got the energy, catch the last Gondola of the day.

Your evening meal awaits you in the dining-room, where you can sit comfortably on your own table socially distanced should you choose to.. For children, our chalet team run a ‘Kids Meal’ sitting at a slightly earlier time than the main evening meal if preferred.

We can’t wait to welcome your family to Ski Olympic and make your winter holiday one to remember.
