What we’ve been up to since March 2020

The Ski Olympic team has been busy over the last 18 months - read on to find out more.

Since March 2020, our doors have been firmly closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Whilst it has been a challenging time for all, Ski Olympic continued to beaver away and plan for our reopening, whenever that would be.

Despite the fact COVID-19 is still with us, we’re so pleased to announce we plan to re-open in winter 2021 with the necessary safety measures in place to keep our guests safe.

You may be thinking - what’s been going on behind the closed doors of La Foret since you last visited us? Read on to find out...

The dining room and lounge is the beating heart of La Foret, where you can enjoy a hearty breakfast in the morning, relax and chat over afternoon tea after skiing, and relish a homemade dinner in the evening. Our lounge and dining room now have a new look after we’ve freshened up the walls, with a modern selection of wall art and decorative pieces accompanying the new lighting. The breakfast area has also been re-designed with a new tiled floor and functional serving area.

We have also created a cosy information corner, where you can browse through information leaflets, read about the Ski Olympic journey on our notice boards, or speak to our Chalet Manager at the reception desk. There’s plenty to do in Vallandry besides skiing and snowboarding, and our information corner showcases the very best of what is on offer.

Fancy curling up with a book? We’ve got a selection of reading material in our new bookcase, located on the ground floor, so you can swap books with other guests and find your next favourite read after a long day on the slopes.

The entrance from the garage to the hotel has also been improved to ensure your welcome is as pleasant as your stay with us, and other communal areas around the hotel have been updated too.

The Cavern has recently started its first phase of re-decoration, which will be completed for the coming season, so that the bar and restaurant will be open for your enjoyment. Further plans are also in development, and we are looking to make improvements to the Cavern ahead of the 2022/2023 season.

A considerable difference to La Foret is the COVID-19 mitigation measures we have put in place to ensure we can keep our guests safe. You will find multiple hand sanitiser stations across the complex, which we hope will encourage good hand hygiene amongst our guests and staff. Your safety is our number one priority, and we’ll be providing all the information you need to know about how we’re keeping you safe this winter in an upcoming blog post - stay tuned!

The final addition to our Ski Olympic family is Chalet Isabelle, our new self-contained chalet located within the La Foret complex. Look out for an upcoming blog post spotlighting Chalet Isabelle to find out more about this residence.
